Dearest Ron, Ann, Susanna & Jessie, Rick, Jean, Ricky & Barbara Jean and Roy,

This has been a fun day - Bob and Claire and little Michael spent the afternoon with us and we visited, watched cable t v and then went on a ride to Maumelle New Town and Otter Creek - it is sad when we think we won't be able to do this for very long and little Michael will be four years old when we come home from our mission.

We were so happy you called this week Roy - we felt so much better after we had talked to you - this is quite a traumatic experience for us and when it affects our children it even makes it more traumatic. You sounds really happy and settled and not dependent on what we are doing and that makes it easier. We have all had so many wonderful and memories times in this home and that's what we must remember.

It was great to talk to you last night Annie and Daddy loved talking to you Jeannie on Tuesday when you called and I was at Relief Society. We hope Jeannie and Rick had a fun time at Park City - I'll bet that would really be a fun vacation at this time of year will all the excitement of the Winter Sports and all. Annie - we hope Ron got home safely today - this is kinda hard for you just before your baby comes - there just isn't much you can do except stay home - we surely hope you're feeling ok.

Our pictures came out in the Church News that was delivered last night and about 6 o'clock our phone started ringing and it seemed like it didn't stop. Oma Wagstaff was the first to call - do you remember her? She and her husband Stan were our Mission Presidents when the Mission Home was down in Shreveport, La. and I worked so closely with them - she asked about all of you. She is the official representative for the church in welcoming the VIPs that come to Utah and she loves it - her husband Stan passed away several years ago. Then Mary, Dick and Mark Richards called and we talked to them on their "squawk box" - they were so sweet and Mark asked about you Roy - he is married and they are both to school. Ellen Mae called today and talked to Daddy because she couldn't get us last night. Ellen Mae called too and it has so much fun. We won't get our paper until next Saturday but Oma said she would send us her copy so we would get it early in the week - we're anxious to see it.

Our home hasn't sold yet but there have been a lot of people come to go through it -I'm glad I'm not home when they come - Daddy does a good job of showing them everything. Last Thursday when I came home Daddy had been doing a lot of packing and he looked so weary to me that I decided we would have the movers come in and move us all in one load - Daddy called and had them come in to give us an estimate on how much it would cast. Would you believe $6,500.00!!!! So --- we have decided to do it ourselves with the help of the U - Haul company - they will send someone to come do all the loading and insure it so it will have to be done right for $20.00 and then Daddy will drive the truck and we will bring some of it the last of March and the rest in June and we figure we will be able to save about $3,000 and it won't be much more work. We have a lot of things packed - our china, clothes we won't be taking, blankets and sheets and towels and things we have!!!! We want to get as much done as we possible can before it starts getting hot here.

We had a chili supper on Friday night at the church - Daddy was in charge of getting the chili - he bought it from a company that Leo Aday works for - it was really hot - they had brought samples for us to try and we chose the milder one but a lot of people really liked it - in fact, they even put Tabasco sauce on it. It was real a fun night - Carol Hellum (Hopkins) put on a musical program and she is soooo good!

I'm going to have those little wart like things cut off my eyelids tomorrow - I kinda exciting - I wouldn't notice them but all the kids I teach ask me about them. Daddy's ear is about the same but Jim was over today and he says it will be another month before he can go in and clean it all out - we're hoping it will be better. We love you all so very much PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!!
