Dearest Ron, Ann & Susanna, & Jessie
Rick, Jean, Ricky & Barbara Jean,
and Roy,

I'm going to write my letter tonight - Saturday - because Sundays become so complicated.

We just came home from John's Seminary Super Saturday - they had that "airplane crash" program where the students go from one kingdom to the other pretending they have been killed. Daddy and I did the Celestial Kingdom and it was really neat - we didn't get there for the other Kingdoms but John said they were all really good and didn't get there for the other Kingdom but John said they were all really good and the airplane crash was "great" - they had the sound effects and all - I have spent all week making a white long dress - Daddy wore Bob's temple jumpsuit. After the program they had a delicious banquet. There were over a hundred young people there - I was really surprised - I thought there would be about fifty at the most. Our Stake is really going "gung-ho" everything is done to perfection - we have some great young people and some great leaders.

There isn't any news - this has been a long dull week - I am still teaching at Mann and Daddy is at Booker, Parkview and Central. I don't think I am going to take any more long terms like this - it become a full time job - I have to make out Semester grades next week and I really don't know the kids that well. Daddy as really enjoyed his classes at Parkview and Central - he has had the honor classes and the makes a world of difference - the remedial reading students "average reading score is second grade level and they are in the seventh and eighth grades so it becomes more than a challenge.

Ron and Ann - thank you so much for your letters - receiving them really brightens one day - we appreciated the section from your paper showing the Real Estate Ads - the price seem about the same as ours - we really have an advantage in that we don't have to choose quickly - we can stay in our home in Lehi until we find exactly what we want - that is unless John threatens to leave home!!!!

Rick and Jean - we surely hope all is well with you and that Rick is back home - we have thought so much about you and especially Rick's Mom. Jim Griffin asked Daddy about Ricky - we hope so much that he hasn't had any more trouble with his ears.

Roy - has your new Semester started off with a bang???? I talked to Mark Goodwin tonight and he asked all about you - I didn't know that he knew you that well - he seemed to know all about your schooling and all and was so interested. Bob says it is really hard - keep your chin up though - David Bass is now working in the Emergency room at the new Baptist Hospital here (I think that's where) and they brought in a man who has been shot at close range in the stomach and he told John all about it - he died!!!

We got some of our picture back and if they had been focused right they would have been wonderful - oh well!!! They are still very good but the coloring is wrong and they're quite dark - for family we will love them. We don't have the ones hat were taken in the back yard developed yet but if they aren't good we will have copies made of the Polaroid one to send off. We have some darling ones of the children and we just sit and drool - one of Susanna and Ricky on the chairs on the patio is just precious. We have a good one of us on the front porch but Roy isn't there. We received a Christmas card from the Danle this week and it was so cleaver - it had different group pictures of each of their children with their families and at the top it said, "families are forever" - I'm assuming that they had trouble getting pictures from each family and that was why they were late but that's something we could do if we couldn't all get together for group picture. The ones of Barbara Jean and Jessie are so darling and it makes me sick to think they are going to be older and bigger when we see them next - we love our grandchildren and are proud of their parents in the way they are "rearing" them.

Bob came over last night to watch "Dallas" with us and then he and Daddy stayed up and watched the late movie - it was so funny, we had pooped popcorn as usual and had a lot of Pepsi left from Christmas so they ate popcorn and drink Pepsi - Bob called today and said he was so wide awake when he got home he stayed up until three this morning working on his piano because he couldn't go to sleep. He's excited about his piano - the parts he had ordered has come in and he was fixing the keys and the pads and all and said it really made a big difference in the way it sounded. Claire will be gone all this next week too so he will probably have it all done by the time she gates home again.

It seems like a dream that you were all hoe for Christmas but we loved it so much. Jeannie - we are really enjoying that fruit cake and hope you will tell your Baker Things like that are better after the holidays because you don't have so much of it around and that is the best I have ever eaten.

We had our Relief Society homemaking meeting last Tuesday night - I enrolled in the knitting lass - Bev Culwell is teaching us how to make house slippers. We have a sweet group of sisters now but it has really changed and I feel almost like a stranger.

Marilyn Glascow and Bill Henderson were married in the Arizona Temple and they had their reception at the Jacksonville church last Thursday - Daddy was over there for meetings so he went to it but I didn't go. He said it was really nice.

Don called me last Monday night - he had received his deeds and he thought we had received ours and he wanted to know if we were happy with it all. We still haven't received ours yet- we can't believe it takes mail that much longer to get to Arkansas but I guess it does. We had a phone call from a man in American Fork who wants to buy some of our property - he wants to build a home where he can have horses. We told him we weren't interested in selling any right now.

When the Barbara come home they had the most exciting news - their grandson in Roswell, New Mexico had bought a raffle ticket for $10 - the state was selling them for piece of property - anyway, his ticket was picked and he won a piece of property valued at from $500,000 to a million dollars - he's 26 years old and already had a Mexican restaurant and his father (Bill and Jeannette's son-in-law0 is a very successful doctor. Isn't it funny how some people are inclined that way? It is so fun to talk to Jeannette and Bill because they are always son top of things and planning something fun to do.

As you can tell - I don't have any more news. John just came up and asked if we could go mail this and stop at Baskin and Robbins for an ice cream cone - we'll try to go get Bob and see if he will go with us.

Roy - we're really loving our long matches - we have never had any of those. Did you get your socks - John found that extra one in his drawer and I mailed them but only in an envelope so I won't be surprised if you don't get them. Let me know. I surely hope Ellen is doing better - maybe, I'll call them.

Please really be careful - we love you all so very much - let us know if we can help in any way.
