Dearest Ron, Ann, Susanna & Jessie, Rick, Jean, & Ricky and Roy,

This will be a short letter - I was typing the school newspaper for "ISH" last week and the I key wouldn't hit - Betty had always told me that when that happened to grab the key and pull it up - well, I did that and it jammed and I can't get it down. I had to used the school library typewriter to finish the paper and it was an old, old one and I made a million mistakes - I finally finished that Friday and we had 350 copies of an eight page newspaper run off!!! I am enjoying school but will be really happy to see school end and go back to just teach him a couple days a week - there are so many things to be done at home.

It's hard to believe that we will be leaving Thursday to come for your graduation Roy - something we have looked forward to for so long. We were so happy to have you call - I'm sorry I wasn't here when you first called because you know how hard it is to get news from Daddy. He did tell me though that you were going to New York to see your Arkansas friends - Claire was over last night and she said you had called her and visited for a little while - it's such a small world for you to both be in the same place at the same time and yet so far away. Did you get to go to Rick and Tripps' graduation from Yale? I'll bet you would have like to go to Europe with your Arkansas friends - what a fun trip!!!! We'll call you as soon as we get in Providence so stay around your phone started a evening or let us know where we can get in touch with you.

I tried to "sneak" a call to you yesterday Jeannie and Rick and then you weren't home - usually when I feel I should call you there is a reason for it but since you weren't home we're hoping everything is fine and you were out having fun. We're getting excited for that little baby to get here and we know you are too - it looks like everything is working out great!

We have showed our pictures of little Jessie and Susanna to so many people - I have ordered a 5 X 7 of the one of Ann, Lynn and Jessie - it will be good for your book - I hope we get it before we leave. We're anxious to see Jessie again - they change so much at that age.

Daddy, John and I went fishing out to lake Maumelle last night - we didn't catch any fish but it was an absolutely gorgeous night - the lake was just like glass - we stayed until about 10:30 and it was pitch black and there were so many funny voices - it sounded like we were out in the jungle - we really loved it. Daddy left early this morning to go to Pine Bluff and then he goes back to Jacksonville for Correlation Meetings - he is on the so constantly and I don't know how he does it. He taught three days last week - he is much happier when he is busy doing things like that. A friend of ours wants us to help finance a franchise for an engine run on gases - I'm not one bit interested but he told him he would ask Ron to look it over and see if it is worthwhile. Everyone and his dog wants us to go in business with them!!!!

Our yard is so pretty - the garden of tomatoes, okra, squash, cucumber and onions is up and will really produced this year, it looks like. Bob and Claire are going to have a job taking care of our yard and garden and move into their home and all - they are really excited to move and will have a lot of help from the church - they do so much to help others. Keith Jones will be home from his Mission on June 2nd - Steve Jones' wife is going to be baptized tonight - we think Bob and Claire have really helped bring this about. Steve and Cindy are doing a great job with little Brent - they bring him to church all the time.

I was going to end it with just one page but John and I went to Church and I learned some more news - The Sondrups are moving to Cleveland, Ohio - I will really miss them and so will the entire ward - they have really been a great asset and that is the most beautiful family and so talented. Barbara's Grandmother died last week so she and her baby Sam went to Provo for the funeral and she just got home. They are very happy about the move - Barbara says it is the big promotion for Kevin, and they are anxious to move away from the integrated schools and busing. The Munks moved there a few months ago so they will be able to help them find a home and gets settled. We are losing so many people - our Ward has really changed.

I also found out that Dianne Powers is pregnant - I hope they get a little girl because they have three boys. She is 38 and will be 39 when the baby is born so they are A LITTLE apprehensive - I keep trying to reassure her. The baby will be born in November.

Marge Lucas is still writing the Ward Newsletter and she really gave you a "nice spread" Roy - I'll send it to you - about his graduation!

We tried to get Bob and Claire to go to the lake with us last night but they didn't want to - Bob told me today that they went to the "Riverfest". That is the new thing - it's supposed to be a cultural thing put on down at the river in a new park there but I think it has been quite "hippyish" so we haven't gone. He said it was quite good last night and tonight they're having some kind of drama event.

Dan and Dorothy and Carol will be in Utah the week of June 13th - we plan to spend a day or so showing them around while we're taking care of little Ricky. They're going to stay at the Hotel Utah Motor Lodge.

Today is Lela's birthday - she would have been 56 years old. Tomorrow is Memorial Day and this is always quite a sad day for Mother and Daddy - I should call them! I have been quite sad all week because I signed the papers to sell the dry farm - that's the last thing in the world Aunt Marvel would have wanted. The one Consolation is that the church is buying it and it will go for good things.

I can't think of any more news - we surely are anxious to be with all of you. Roy - do you need cloths for graduation - if you do I hope you'll get them - we'd love to get you a new suit - let us know.

We surely do love you - please be careful - especially you Jeannie!!!!
