Dearest Ron, Ann & Susanna, Rick, Jean & Ricky and Roy,

First of all I want to apologize to Ron for not sending him a "newsletter" last week - we thought he would be coming to Little Rock and I guess I thought we could fill him in on the news (?) then. We were disappointed that you didn't get to come but the weather was so bad that it wouldn't have been much different from Utah so we hope you can come when we have pretty weather.

We really loved Ann and Susanna's visit - it was simply wonderful to get better acquainted with little Susanna and we think she is a little doll - such a sweet, sweet little girl and so-o-o-o busy - we will miss her so much and you too Annie. I thought your airplane was never going to take off this morning - it was 10:45 and it was supposed to leave at 10:20 - we hope everything went good and that Susanna slept most of the way. They were taking such good care of you Ann that I really haven't worried too much - they let her get on the plane about 20 minutes before anyone else!!!! I was glad you called Ron - it gave me extra assurance that you would be there to get them since it had been an on again off again sort of thing with our bad weather!!! Johnny has said several times the last hour - Wow, I wish Suz didn't live so far away - he really loves her!!!!

Roy - how are things going with you and your new Semester. We hope you got your application forms all filled out and we'll keep our fingers crossed. The original copy of this letter that you will get really look funny - I have such old, old carbon paper that the only way it will make duplicate copies is to turn the type set up to 10 and it takes all of the paper out of the "O's, etc.!!!! Bob had an rough test on Friday and when they were over later that evening he said he was tired of studying - I'm sure you are too. You have had a lot of snow this week too, haven't you? I talked to Vivian Warner for a little while tonight and she said Carol was in the nursing program here in Little Rock and really is enjoying being home - their son, Gig, is up at Fayetteville and has gained thirty pounds this year - she said it was the potatoes and gravy in the dorms. I told her you were eating better now that you were cooking for yourself than you were when you ate in the school cafeteria. Ann and I bought an eggplant to make you eggplant parmesan and then we didn't get time so I'll make it this week.

Jeannie and Rick - we will be thinking about you and little Ricky on Tuesday - we hope he will be well enough to have the tubes put in his ears - that will make such a lot of difference in you household - I remember so well how hard it was on all of us when Johnny was suffering with his ear problems. We have so many friend's whose children have to have allergy shots - if it can prevent health problems it will be worth it and Ricky surely comes by allergies honestly - my Father has had really bad hay fever and I have it and I think you have allergies too Ricks, don't you? We're so happy you're feeling good Jeannie and we hope you'll take good care of yourself.

Daddy and I have been in Jacksonville all afternoon - Daddy was over there this morning too. I met with Cissy and Geraldine and we discussed the new church time schedule Roy - you wouldn't believe what the church is doing with the meetings - they are all going to be held on Sunday - Sacrament Meeting will be first and then Sunday School and when these over twelve go to Sunday School the others will go to Primary - after Sunday School they will have Mutual, Priesthood and Relief Society - we will be in church for four hours and then we won't have any meetings during the week. There is supposed to be a church activity night once a week where any activity for any auxiliary will be held. I can't imagine what it will be like to not go to Relief Society during the week - I have been doing that for twenty years. It will take some getting used to but everyone is excited about it and it will conserve on energy by less traveling and also by not having to heat and air condition the church building. This change is world wide.

We have had some snow and icy weather - school was closed last Friday - it has been pretty today but it is very, very cold. It really is time for us to have some Wintry weather - I wouldn't care if it snowed for the rest of February. We surely do love each one of you - we hope so much that you are really happy and going fun things - please let us know if we can help you in any way.
