Dearest Ron, Ann & Susanna, Rick, Jean and Roy,

I Have about forty-five minutes before we have our Sacrament Meeting so I'm going to try to write you a note and mail it on the way to church. Today is our Ward Conference so we're going to have our meeting with the Second Ward ant it is at 2:15 instead of 4:00 - the Beyers and the Seeleys will be here from Hot Springs and I have made some brisket barbecue for sandwiches and a "banana split cake" in case they want to come over after the meetings. The Seeleys are new here since you all were here and they are such lovely people -they moved from California to a little place by Hot Springs called Glenwood - he is an excellent organist and has given special music seminars in the Stake for Relief Society and he is on the High Council. It is a cold, rainy gloomy day so it will be nice if they came over.

We were so thrilled to have each one of you call for Thanksgiving - we appreciate that so much. We had a wonderful day with delicious food but we missed you all - as I wanted the Macy Day parade I thought of you Roy and I hoped you were among the crowd watching it in person but when you called you said you weren't - I don't have any idea where Ty lives in New York - you were probably a long ways away from downtown. Someday I am going to watch that and the Rose Bowl parade in person!!!! Bob, Daddy and John went duck hunting early Thanksgiving morning and Claire wanted to sleep late (I surely didn't blame her because she has been working some late hours) - so I cooked and watched television until they all come home which was about noon. Claire made a delicious pumpkin pie and Daddy had de-boned the turned (as Ron's instructions) on Wednesday and I had made Ann's apple-sausage dressing and we had stuffed it already to bake so there really wasn't very much to do on Thanksgiving. After Dinner Claire and I talked them into biking up Pinnacle - it was a beautiful day and good for us!!! Jennie and Rick made our day by telling us they were planning to come home for the Christmas holidays - I still can't believe that but nothing would make us happier and we hope so much their plans will materialize. I felt bad that you didn't have anything to snack on Jean and Rick but I'll bet the Thanksgiving dinner at the hospital was delicious - one of those bakery sweet rolls would be enough for me. We hope the Woolleys had happy time - I think it's just wonderful for your family to be close enough to get together at this time of year - you would need a "big turkey - we had a 22 lb. One and we have just about finished it. we're happy that Susanna has her appetite back - she'll start to gain weight and you'll wonder what you worried about -we went shopping yesterday and Johnny picked out some little "Nike shoes he wanted to buy for her - he almost cried when we wouldn't let him but she would have turned around in them.

Before I forget - Roy - Becky Ewing was married the night before Thanksgiving - she married a man whose grandparents live in Brigham City and they were married in their home. We are so thrilled when we think that it was just a year ago when they had her come home from her Mission and she and her missionary couple escorts spent Thanksgiving with us and now she is happily married (that's a confusing sentence). Her adopted Father, Clarence Wilson told us about it and he said Wiols was going to go out so when I have talked to her I'll let you know more about everything. I believe I told you that Mickey and Tommy Luten have finally divorced - Claire talked to him the other night and she said he is training to be a department manager for K-Mart and hopes to be transferred out of Arkansas so he can start over - that's really been hard on the Lutens.

Terry and Dana Woods are home for Thanksgiving - Terry come over and visited for a little while and told me their home was almost broken into - they took the front screen door off but they couldn't get into the door because they had just put three dead locks on it- they have also put bars on the inside of all their windows and sliding glass door - I guess we're going to have to do that. Wink was a good watch dog but think Hans and Daisy would bark a little but it wouldn't be hard to et them quiet. By the way - the people who came last Sunday bought the little female - I just about cried - we have a little male left - we haven't had that in the paper for a week but we have it in now - everyone who has come has bought one and he is just darling so I'm sure we'll sell him sooner or later.

Hall won the football championship game on Thanksgiving day - they were tied with Central and they beat them 17 - 0 - we were all so thrilled. The Razorbacks won their game with SMU last night - Johnny went to it with the Cavenesses and he didn't get home until almost midnight. Ronnie's father is a former All-American from Fayetteville so he gets royal treatment and they have dinner in the "Lettermen's Club" and box seats and the works - last night when Johnny came in he just hugged me and said he was so glad his parents didn't drink like that - I guess he had seen some worldly things that he didn't like and he smelled like he has been in a bar all night - he has gone with them at least once during the football season each Fall but I guess he's getting older and notices more now. Ronnie's father has quit his job with Coleman Dairy and is going to buy the "Coors" distributorship for the state of Arkansas - a bonanza for them!!! (I just re-read this and it sounds like Ronnie's folk's drink a lot - they don't - in fact Tommy - Mrs. Caveness - didn't even go).

Bro. Henderson is home for thirty days - he has been in Arabia for the past two years and has two more to go - he just comes home periodically. He really looks good and says he is so glad to be home but he has committed himself for the next two years. Isn't the situation in Iran sad? It really worries me and if I were Pres. Carter I would have the Shah leave the United States - he hasn't asked me for my advice though!!!!

As you can see I am in a hurry. We love you all very much and hope you will be really careful - we think about you all the time -we wonder when the Woolleys will get into their beautiful new home and we wonder about you breakfast meeting with the Dean tomorrow Roy and we think about Rick working two different jobs and we hope that's working out okay. Mother forwarded on to me the negatives of the pictures Don took at their anniversary party and I was anxious to get them so I could have some extra ones to send on to you - their is one good one and hat is of Daddy, Ann, Ron and Susanna and also one or Ricky on Grandmother's lap that is excellent but the others aren't very good - they didn't have one of the Weinerts (don't feel bad, they didn't have one of me either) and the group one is funny - Grandpa has his eyes closed!!! My cousin took one of the group on our camera and if it is good I'll send you a copy - I wish Daddy would have taken some - I can't complain when we didn't take any, can I????
