Dearest Ron, Ann & Susanna, Rick, Jean, Ricky and Roy,

This has been a Super week - we had letters from each once of you - we had also talked to Jennie and Roy and they told us they had written so I had something to look forward to all week. Roy - we surely do hope you will be able to write each Sunday,, that would be wonderful. Ron - your card was so nice - I really appreciate receiving cards written by the men in the family because that has never come easy for Lynn!!!!

Roy we loved reading about all your classes and you sound so "settled in" with you studies and, knowing you, I know that means you're happy. The "human body" truly is an incredible machine as you said and incredible machine as you said and I'm that sure that when you study it in depth you can see how so many things can go wrong with it. it makes us excited to know that you're dedicated enough to study hard and do the best you can. It's hard to believe that you are involved in interviewing patients already - I'll bet that's fu. Your housing `situation sounds good - I have always thought young people who "had to live alone" had problems so we're proud of you for coping with four other young men and all their different personalities - that will be as good for you as all the things you learn in your classes. I'm always on the lookout for good and easy recipes to sent you.

Jennie and Rick - your jobs sound so good. I'm thrilled to hear that your diet classes are going so well Jennie and also your hospital job and that you like your job too Rick - the first little while on anew job is always so hard!!!! That little (?) Ricky sounds like a doll - Daddy is going to come loaded with some film so he can take some pictures - I am so anxious to see what he looks like - does he still look like his Daddy!!!! Your plans to buy a lot in Kaysville sound great - where will you live while you have a new home built? Ellen Mae should have some inside information about good lots or homes there and I know she would love to help you. The reason she calls you is because she promised me she would check up on you occasionally - she is the most wonderful friend I have ever had and I really appreciate her. I'm sorry we talked so long the other night - it was so good to hear from you because it had been quite awhile. I can really tell my age when you kids call - I don't even know which one it is until you tell me - that's terrible!!!! Johnny called from football practice the other day and it took me a little while to realize who he was and he lives here.

Annie and Ron - we loved your call yesterday but I felt so bad for you Ann. (she had just taken Susanna into the Doctor and he told her she needed to gain some weight). One thing for sure you make most of your mistakes on your first one - and everyone does!!!! That seems an easy thing to remedy and I'm sure that now you know she needs more carbohydrates and fat that she will gain. She couldn't be any more healthy - it's hard to believe she only weights 15 lbs. Your trip to Kansas City sounded fun but we are so relieved that you don't want to live there. Daddy and I have said so many times how much we admire the Woolleys and the Weinerts because you know where you want to live and you'll sacrifice other things in order to do that - I know that if we had it to do over again we would have stayed closer to our families. We surely hope you'll get feeling better Ann - I'll be relieved after you have been to your Doctor.

Bob and Claire are doing fine - I have tried at least a dozen times to call this week and they are never home. Claire called yesterday from work - she was worried about Bob because he had said he would meet her for lunch and hadn't showed up - we found out today that he was working in the Anatomy Lab and forgot about it. she is going to have a hard time for a longtime because he just has to study, study and study. They went to the Fair last night and had a good time - the have a cute couple in the church to go around with - John and Skylar Merrifield and they really have fun together. Claire really likes her work and that's good.

Johnny is going fine too - he went to the Fair last night with a group of friends and it about killed Lynn and me - the three of us have gone together for the last thirteen years - I am finding it hard to let him grow up. He has been mowing lawns like crazy all month to earn enough money for this - he spent $22 and he said most of his friends spent at least $30 - one of them had $100 - can you imagine???? He surely is a good kid and I hope we can keep him that way - he was too young for his Moped and it has been "Out of order" more than it has been working and I'm quite glad - some of his friends are out riding theirs until midnight - they come by here and talk to him out his bedroom window. He has to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting tonight and he wants to go right now so I'll finish this later------------.

Much later ------ it's about 10:00 p.m. and I just got back from a Young Adult Relief Society Meeting. I had to make the punch - there were about 30 young women there from throughout the Stake and it was really nice - Kim Aday is the Young Adult Leader and does a great job.

Johnny did a wonderful job in giving this talk - he talked about how Jesus taught by telling parables and then he related some of them - it was supposed to last 7 minutes and Lynn timed him and it was 6 min. 45 second - that pleased him!!!!

I talked to Marilyn Harris tonight Annie - her little girl has always been tiny like Susanna - she weight 20 lbs. now and she's going on two. She said she didn't even weight 15 lbs. when she was a year and she's as healthy as can be.

This has been a rather hectic week. Daddy wanted to get all his painting done before he went to Utah so he started upstairs the first of the week and he painted John's old room a light tan (candlelight), our bedroom a light blue and then the "pink" bathroom he wallpapered in a foil and lavender paper and painted some of it a pinkish lavender - it's really pretty but the paper isn't sticking too good. We have turned John's old room into a "study" for Daddy - we put the gold chairs in there and the orange couch and the boys' old desks - it looks really nice and will be so handy for him. When he retired Olin presented him with a unique plaque - I don't remember if I told you about it or not - it has a picture of him in bronze and underneath it are signatures of all the men who have worked under him at one time or another while he was with the company -anyway we'll put that on the wall along with some of his other mementos !!!! we'll still be able to make beds in there for you all when and if you come home to visit and we're considering to bedroom downstairs as John and Roys' room and John can sleep upstairs when Roy has company.

Daddy put the wood parquet floor down in the kitchen and we finally had it finished the first of the week but we couldn't walk on it until Thursday so we had to eat out all last week - John loved it. Well - Friday morning I decided I would go to the freezer and get something to fix for dinner since I hadn't cooked all week and I discovered our freezer wasn't work in and most of the food had the wed. we called Sears and they sent someone out and supposedly they fixed it - well - we discovered on Saturday that it wasn't fixed. It has been a mess - today for lunch we had baked salmon, fried chicken, barbecued brisket, and chicken noodle soup and John said it all tasted like freezer. I have thought so much about what you said about never seeing the bottom of it Roy - well - you can see the bottom of it now and much of it is guck and muck!!! We're going out tomorrow to buy another one and I think we'll get an upright one and put it I'm the bar area downstairs where that old refrigerators. I learned a lot about myself in this experience - I freeze all the leftovers but I never intend to serve them again - from now on I'm going to cook just a little bit even if we're still hungry and have to fill up on bread and jelly!!!!

Did I tell you that Daddy put in that indoor outdoor carpet in our laundry room downstairs. When he moved the washer he discovered that it has been leaking - we called the Sears man and when he came out he said that it has been leaking - we called the Sears man and when became out he said that didn't ever happen to their washers - he said the motor always wore out before the basket rusted out - but our washing machine was still working great but we don't know how long it has been leaking. So we had to buy a new washing machine and got one just like yours Jennie. I am so glad all these things didn't happen while we were gone this Summer Roy - you would have really bee in a pickle. Our washing machine was10 years old and the freezer 20 and they didn't owe us a thing, because I use the washing machine at least once a day and most of the time for several loads.

Well I can't think of any more news. Bob and Claire came over for a little while after Sacrament Meeting to night and they loved your letters - they both look really thin to me.

Please be careful and lets us know if we a help you in anyway -we surely do love you!!!!
