August 20, 1979 Little Rock, Arkansas Dearest Annie, Ron & Susanna;

Sundays are too busy for letter writing anymore - I was in a Relief Society Presidency Meeting all afternoon. Sister Beyers is a wonderful leader but her meetings are too long.

I wish we would have had a tape in the car to record Johnny's description of his visit with the Willardsens. It was so funny - his first statement was "The Willardsens make the Kirkpatricks look like peasants". He talks about them with the greatest respect though - he says "they don't act rich". We're grateful to them for being so sweet to him and also to us. We had to wait 5 hours for them to come from California and Carol Ann was just wonderful to us - she entertained Roy while Daddy and I drove into Moroni to get some turkey hams and you know what a job that is. I love their Manti home and it's a paradise for boys. We're very impressed with the "whole crew". Carol & Carol Ann fixed the most delicious dinner for us - turkey steaks, zucchini casserole, melon, fruit salad, onion bread and peach cake.

I get the funniest feeling like I've been asleep for about 15 years and during this time all our Utah relatives have been doing "big" things. They are certainly much more "with it" than we are!!!

We want to thank you so much for all the things you did to make our stay in Utah so enjoyable. You two were just wonderful - the home show was such a special treat, the "camping out" in Manti canyon and the reunion, the trips to "American Fork Canyon" and the use of your camping equipment, making John feel so welcome to stay with you, going to the temple with us, fixing breakfast for us, Sunday dinner (delicious), peach cobbler, bringing all the things to help with little Ricky - the Sundance Theater - I could go on and on - mostly we loved being with you and seeing the marvelous job you're doing with Suz - parenthood is a natural for both of you and she's so lucky to come into your home - we're proud of you!!!

We love you all so much.

Dad XO, Mom XO, John XO & Roy XO.
