Dearest Ron, Ann & Susanna, Rick & Jean, Bob & Claire and Roy,

Claire - we have never had a St. Patrick's Day card before - in fact I didn't even know they made them! Thank you so much and also for your wonderful letter. It was so funny, the night we received your letter was also had a terrific thunderstorm - Claire said that she and Bob were looking forward to a thunderstorm. We sorta' take them in stride but they are really frightening to people who aren't used to them - Karen Wood calls me whenever we have one when Jim isn't home and I know it's because she is frightened. We can hardly wait for you t move to Arkansas too and many people is the church and neighborhood are anxious for you to get have - not to mentioned the many Real Estate people who will be waiting!!!! Ha! The special recipes you monitored should interesting - Frances James told me that she substitutes white grape juice in recipes that call for wine and she says it is just as good - I bought some for one of her recipes and I could hardly save enough for the recipe - it is very good!!! We're anxious to seethe new shades in Aunt Marvel's place - I hope to get some ideas for our home here - you have really spent a lot of time with all of that and we appreciate it. your new chapel sounds great - wouldn't it have been wonderful if Aunt Marvel could have gone to it? it would have been so close for her to walk. Your Sunday school class will really miss you it is so hard to put up with kids that age and yet it is so important for them to have a good teacher. We know you'll be happy to be through school - now your role will be to convince Bon that studding can be fun - he will have a lot of it for a long time.

Annie - we loved your long letter too. We went to the Carter Outlet store today and bought some darling clothes for Susanna but then we want to the Stake Relief Society Leadership meeting and I visited with the Mother of a little girl who was born Oct. 17, and the clothes we got locked almost too mail for her - she said she weight 14 lbs. I'm sure she'll be able to wear them but I don't know for how long but we'll learn from this and know what to get next time. I surely hope you will be able to get her to sleep through the night before long - that takes so much out of you when your sleep is interrupted and especially when you both have to go to work the next day. I promise you it will get better it's all so worth it but I also understand how hard it is. It was so interesting to read about Glen's success but I tell you I would not live the way they have all these years for a million trips to Hawaii, Egypt, England, All of Europe, South America, Africa, etc, etc.!!! we agree - it would be so much fun to go on a family trip with all of us - the only problem is that the kind of trips I enjoy the very much are the very simple ones - like camping in the trailer and I know many of you don't like to do that. I think a trip to Lake Powel sound great - let's work on that!!

Jennie - Annie says you are doing good and we're so happy about that - we'll be so thrilled to see you and find out for ourselves - one thing we want to make perfectly clear is that we don't want you to do any traveling when we come out the end of this month - we'll do all the traveling to see you. If you can come and stay for a few days that will be great but none of this back and forth stuff - okay???? I have worried about Grandmother and Grandpa Forrest finding about your pregnancy from spoken else - like maybe Ellen Mae's parents - do you thin it should be a good idea to tell them so they won't be hurt?

Roy I called Ellen Prothro tonight and she said she had heard from Jill on Thursday and that she was having fabulous time. I took Jill little birthday gift and visited with Ellen and Ed for a few minutes - I think Ellen looks so good - they had their neighbor over and they was getting ready to go out to dinner so I met them too and they said they know you and thought you looked like me - 'course that pleased me. We're so anxious to hear how everything went -we have watched your weather and you've had fairly good weather - better than ours has been this week, Ellen said that Jill thought Ty's folks were really great - I hope Ty will visit with us sometime so we can show him a good time.

Bob and Ron and Rick - we hope you're all doing and that your work is going just the way you want it. Daddy is enjoying not having to work as hard as usual but our neighbors are all worried that he will have all our trees cut down if he doesn't soon run out to steam - he really needs a big farm to work on. Our yard looks one hundred percent better already and besides that he has had time to tutor John in math and he's making A's on everything and is much happier - Daddy should have retired long ago. He has as' really learned how to try chicken and he'll have to fix it for you when we come because' it's better them the Colonel's!!!! he has to go to Houston next week though. We hope you can all work if so you can retrieve at 60.

Daddy and John & I went to the Stake Basketball tournaments last Wednesday night and we saw so many people - Croppers, Marge Steward (really thin), Mel Widgins (really fat). Pete Jr. and his wife have moved to Texarkana but we don't know who he's working for. Nell and Petes' home is all remodeled and very nice. Mike Steward is a vice-president with some bank in North Little Rock. We want to see the Wilhites today and that is such a wonderful sight - Bessie cares for him with such love and patience and he is so happy. I didn't ever tell you this but it is well known now so I will tell you - Jim Levis was disfellowshipped and he and Veds were dismissed from their jobs as custodians of the Stake Center - we all worried that they would became inactive but they have come back even stronger than before and it has been a beautiful testimony for all of us.

I don't know whey I'm starting a new page - I don't have that much more news and these pages are so long - I don't have any more type paper!!!!

Johnny just came in where I'm typing and he has your old pair of ten corduroy shorts on Roy and they almost fit him. He is growing so fast he is really a good eater and doesn't like deserts and that's killing me. He left the house at 7 O'clock this morning to go "Foreman" to go fishing - that's a little lake here in Leawood and he has been gone all day. I don't like for him to be on his own that much because he absolutely refuse to stay home but Daddy and I went to Jacksonville for the Stake Relief Society Anniversary Meeting and reception and that took all day.

Cissy Beyers does on outstanding job as Stake Relief Society President - it is such a treat to go to Leadership Meeting and for so many years it was absolutely useless. She gets her entire family involved in them - Steve and Aillean were there all day with their little baby girl and Showa and Rax were there with their two little boys - they really support her and so does Charlie. They told Daddy that Jim Griffin has already bough a home in Hot Springs and will be moving there soon.

This next Friday is our Ward Relief Society Anniversary Dinner and Program - I'm in charge of the diner and I'll be glad when it's over. We're going to have that German Meatball dish over rice pilaf, green beans with water chestnuts, tomato appic and cheese cake and also rolls. Carol Hallm (used to he Hopkins but she has legally taken her maiden name back) is in charge of the program so it will really be good.

Daddy and I have been putting all our pictures in album - that is such big job!!! I have started to do this a thousand times and tried to put them in certain categories and there are so many of them that I have become discouraged and ended up putting them back into boxes so this time we just started pasting them in - and then have tired to put the pages into categories - we have some of them mixed up but at least there not going be in boxes any more. We want to write a history of the stories that the pictures tell so when we get through we'll have our life history done and it will be more fun to read it - we think!!!

Johnny is anxiously awaiting the arrival of Daisy's puppies - talk about sex education - he is ready to kill any dog that might be the father if they aren't Hans' puppies. He wants a moped so bad and we want to Pat Kingdom today to lock at some schnauzers they had for sale and they want $200 for them and they aren't merely so pretty as you puppies. Lynn and I don't think Hans is the Daddy but we surely hope we're wrong - she would have them any day now. Lynn has told him he can have all the money he gets from them.

I am going to finish this tomorrow - maybe I'll have some news from Sunday School!

I just took Johnny to Priesthood Meeting - he looked so funny - I had forgotten it was Scout Sunday and he had to wear his Scout uniform - he hasn't worn the pants for a long time and they are about a foot too short - maybe I'll have time to length them before Sacrament Meeting. Daddy left early this morning to go to Clarendon to put in a new Branch Presidency there - Bro. And Sister Bergstrom had an opportunity to go back to Utah to school and work on tan advanced degree so they left and they have one such a good job there - they'll be hard to replace.

Terry Woods is home for their Spring Break - I have just seen her in their backyard but I'm sure she will come ever before she goes back. Dana has also been home for a few days and she has a friend with her (boy) - she is a darling girl and is enjoying school at Fayetteville.

We will be watching the Razorbacks play Weber Stake this afternoon but we'll have mixed loyalty - we really can't cheer against Ricks' alma mater!! All of Arkansas thinks Sydney Moncrief is God - he can do no wrong - he really is a wonderful with me and would win if he were to run for Governor. we hope you get to.
