Dearest Ron & Ann, Rick & Jean and Bob & Claire,

This has been a fun but busy week. Johnny went to Brookhill and really had a wonderful time - it's a very spiritual camp and even though it isn't Mormon, they do a great job of teaching things we believe in - Johnny even volunteered to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting next week because he wanted to tell some things about Missionary work before he forget them. I wish we had send Roy to Brookhill!!!!!

We loved your letter Bob - you both sound so happy - your camping trip sounded fun - there are some beautiful spots to camp in Utah and we agree their lakes aren't as pretty but there are other things. We're proud of you and your garden - wish we could have some of your zucchini - Claire, have you made any zucchini bread yet? We're also thrilled that you plan to continue in medicine - you will never be sorry if you really put every efforts into being at the top in your field!!!

Jeannie and Rick - it was so good to talk to you and we appreciate your calling to tell us about Uncle Elly being in the hospital. We got him a really cute card and will send it to Manti since I'm sure he's probably out of the hospital by now. We're so glad you were able to spend some time with Aunt Carol - isn't she a doll!!!!! We can hardly wait to hear that you're moving into your home. The things your Doctor has been advising you in really make sense to us - we just know things will work out for you.

The Woolleys probably won't get this letter - we hope you have a super time in Europe Ann and Ron. Daddy will be so relieved when you get home - he really has reservations about your going Ann. He wouldn't let me do anything when I was pregnant and as a result I became a "stay at home" - I personally don't think it will hurt. We hope you will use your good judgment and get lots of rest - please call us when you get home.

It was Chris Jordin's birthday Monday - that was the day John left for camp so I couldn't have anything for her but we (Dianne & I) had a luncheon for her on Tuesday. It was really nice - there were twelve here - Laura, Viola Munk, Barbara Sondrup, Ann Cobb, Sherry Rivers, Margie Lucas, Kathy Lewis, Marilyn Harris and Linda Smithers. I made a hot chicken salad that was just delicious, Jell-O salad, tomatoes and asparagus and hot rolls - Dianne made the birthday cake and got the gifts. We really had fun. Chris turned 50 and after we had it planned we discovered it was Viola's 31st birthday so we celebrated hers too. Chris and I went over to visit with Bessie Wilhite on Monday afternoon because it was her 80th birthday - we went to the hospital because that's where she stays with Brother Wilhite - he broke his hip and is confined for a few more weeks.

Thursday afternoon, Daddy and I went to Fayetteville - he had business there with an Engineering Professor at the University. We stopped at Altus on our way up there and had dinner - that's the place of the Weidikehr Wine Cellars - we went there as family a long time ago, do you remember. Our dinner was really good. We stayed in Fayetteville, Thursday night and then Friday morning the Professor invited us to his farm and we went and picked peaches - we brought three bush home and are in the process of bottling them - they are just wonderful. Friday afternoon we traveled north of Fayetteville and visited Rogers, also went to the Christ of the Ozarks Statue and had planned to stay for the Passion Play there but it started to rain and we didn't to sit out in the rain that long. We went to Eureka Springs and that place is really booming as a resort town - it was fun to shops in some of the craft shops. We stayed in Harrison Friday night and then came home Saturday morning. It was such a relaxing trip and we just stopped and did want ever wanted to and saw so many things we hadn't seen before.

Daddy had a wonderful birthday yesterday and was so pleased to be remembered by you - the family gave him a "Battery Charger" for his boat motors. Johnny made him a leather key holder while he was at camp and that pleased him - we had a special steak dinner and I bought a carrot cake from Harrys - he says he feels "58"!!! He had a complete physical exam on Thursday and the doctor says he's in excellent health - we're so grateful.

We really do love each one of you so very much - please let us know if you need anything.
