Dearest Ann & Ron, Jean & Rick, Bob and Roy,

Today is Mother's Day and I thank you so very much for your cards and remembrances to me - I love being your Mother and appreciate each one of you for being the kind of children who make me so proud. We have had a Happy Day - Daddy has been with us all day and that's most unusual. The programs in church were outstanding - Keith Jones spoke at both meetings and did a good job - this morning as he started his talk he left the podium and was talking about the beautiful day and how happy he was to come to church and he walked down the aisle to where his Mother was sitting - he introduced her and asked her to stand - it was so nice because she has been so sick with cancer and has lost her hair during the chemotherapy treatments - she looked lovely in a beautiful wig but she is just skin and bones. His talk tonight was almost a farewell talk before he goes on his mission - he has grown so much in maturity and is looking forward to his mission. Daddy changed the Bishopric in our Ward - they released Tony Munk and Jim Morgan from their counselor positions and put in Bro. Tolman and Bro. Lucas - Jim is going to be the Ward Mission Leader and Tony is going to be on the High Council.

Daddy gave me a beautiful silver chain necklace - I really love it. Johnny and the family gave me a "Chicken Bucket"- he loves Kentucky Fried Chicken so much and this is supposed to be the closest thing to it when you make it at home. We fixed chicken for dinner and it was delicious - it is a pressure cooker. We sent Grandmother an electronic blood pressure kit and also a beautiful necklace Daddy had brought to her from Rome - we called them a few minutes ago and she said she didn't think she could learn how to take her own blood pressure and she hadn't found the necklace so I guess we bombed!!!! She doesn't sound very happy - I guess she doesn't feel very good and yet I can't get her to go to Mayo Clinic so I don't know what to do. Daddy sounds really chipper - Don and Cheryl and their family was there visiting.

This was a wonderful week - we heard from each one of you - EVEN YOU ROY!!!!! We loved your long and newsy letter Roy - your weather sounds great and we believe you deserve every bit of it. We couldn't believe your experience in the hospital - I read that part of your letter to David and he said you had already done more than he has in the way of treating patients. We hope you'll be able to spend some time with Robert - it will be a dull Summer without him around. We'd love to have Jill go to Utah for the wedding with us - we may have to take the big car but that would be okay - that would really be fun. We'll wait until you get home to have you ask her -Okay??? We hope your exams won't be too hard. We're so anxious for you to get home - Johnny has discovered your bedroom so you'll probably have a roommate at least for the sleeping part.

We really loved your letter too Bob - your sound so busy and your hospital work sounds wonderful - we're anxious to have our lungs checked. We're wondering if you went to San Francisco this week-end for the podiatry school interview - we'll be interested in hearing all about it. We're so happy that you're enjoying Aunt Marvel's home - you're right, she hasn't thrown anything away since she moved in there eighty years ago. Claire sounds as if she's having a great time too - when is she coming back? I think it's good that she bought her wedding dress over there so her Mom could help her - we're getting so excited about the wedding but I still don't have my dress. Your dinner with Ann and Ron must have been super - you have mentioned it in your letters and calls - Ann said she loved the dinner you fixed for her too while Ron was gone.

Jeannie and Rick - it was fun talking to you the other night (sorry, Rick wasn't there). I'm so glad Roy sent us that article about Crohn's disease - I have hunted high and low for some information about that. We were so surprised to learn what an emotional disease it is - I had blamed it onto poor eating habits but I guess your studied too hard or something. Now that you have it, it is imperative that you get it taken care of - I know that you're doing that. We are really thrilled that you are going to a doctor who specializes in high risk pregnancy cases - that is the smart thing to do. I told Frances James that and she wondered if his name was "Herberson". We're excited to see you lot and house plans.

Annie and Ron - we laughed and laughed over your letter describing your nausea on the way home from the airport - you never have been very good at that - remember the time you couldn't get the car window down fast enough? I have worried so much about you since I got the pictures back that Daddy took when he was out for conference - you look sick in those. There isn't anything worse than morning sickness and I hope so much that it's about over for you - you look so thin - I wish I could be there to help you in someway. Aunt Marvel was thrilled with the card you sent her - she cried when I read it to her. We're going to start training your little puppy - that is, Johnny said he would. She is the cutest one in the whole group and she had a lot of fuzzy hair so Johnny said he would call her Teddy - to day he came running in and said, "Mom, I have just thought of something we'll call her the Woolley Teddy Bear" - we'll send the registration papers with this letter and you can name her what you want to. We have three left - two females and 1 male. We may lower the price if they don't sell this week - we have done very well and even if we have to have the Pet Kingdom sell the rest it has been well worth it.

Jeannie and Rick just called - thank you so much. Rick spoke in church today - wish we could have heard it.

Daddy and I went to Bald know last Thursday and picked thirty quarts of strawberries. I made 16 quarts of freezer jam and thirteen pints of regular jam - we have had so much rain that many of the strawberries were water soaked and we had to be careful in picking them - the water soaked ones soured so quickly.

Johnny has started his baseball games - they had a practice game Last Saturday and Johnny just about hit one over the fence - he really has a lot more confidence now. They have their first game of the tournament tomorrow night. Ronnie spent the night here Friday night and they both went with their friend Carter Brown on his paper route Saturday morning about four o'clock - after their route they went to Shipley's for donuts - do you remember when you used to do that Bob? John and Carter are building a bicycle in our garage - as Daddy said, they have taken two good bikes and will end up with one bad one - there are bicycle parts all over the garage.

Danny McKeldry and his wife and three children have moved back to Jacksonville - he and his brother are going to take over their father's construction business. Danny asked about all of you - he is such a nice young man.

Aunt Marvel is doing really well - the new company is "Intermed Inc." and it is really changing a lot of things - everything is new - new sheets, bedspreads, pillows, and they're going to paint all the rooms and changes the draperies - it is so much nicer. They told us today when we went there that they think Aunt Marvel's mind is even improving - really she is much better.

My Garden Club had their annual Spring Luncheon last Thursday - I had to install the new officers and it had taken a lot of preparation but it was fun. I have said I would be the City Garden Therapy Chairman for next year - I hope I haven't gotten myself into something big.

Daddy has just now put out his tomato and cucumber plants - we're about one month behind schedule in Little Rock - it was actually cold hare last week. We couldn't believe it when Grandpa Forrest said it was 89 in Brigham City today.

I can't think of anymore news so I'll close for now. We surely do love each one of you and hope you'll tell us if you need anything - PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!
