Dearest Ann & Ron, Jean & Rick, Bob and Roy,

IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME!!!! Thank you so very much for making my trip to Utah so enjoyable - even you Roy because you said Aunt Marvel would be much better and I think I treated her with that in mind. You Utah kids were wonderful and I appreciate it so much - it seemed like every time things got a little dull or depressing on of you would suddenly appear and I couldn't have done it without you. I appreciated having you call Monday evening too to see if I had made it home okay - I felt so important. I was very concerned on our trip from Lehi to the airport - Aunt Marvel seemed as if she would grab Bob from the back any minute but when we talked to Bob he wasn't even worried - said he thought she was just restless- so may be I was reading things into her actions that weren't there. She wouldn't talk tome from the minute we got I the airport until we got in Little Rock and every time I would try to brush her hair or fix her in any way she would push my hand away. Everything, time wise, worked great - we didn't have to wait long in Salt Lake until we boarded the plane -it was quite long to wait in the Denver airport but I had her orange juice with 100 mg. of that sedative to give her and I don't think she even noticed the wait. She ate a really good lunch after we left Denver and then took a short map. Daddy and Johnny were here to meet us with some beautiful carnations - she still wasn't talking. When we drove up to the Rest Home, three nurses came out to greet her and help her in the wheel chair and then when we got inside so many of her friends came to welcome her back. Daddy and Johnny and I left and I decided to not go see her for awhile to see if she would cool off. We just went to visit her and take her some ice cream a few minutes ago and she's just fine. I don't want to remember her the way she was the last few days in Lehi or on the way back so I'm going to try to forget that- she has always been too sweet to us for us to treat her wrong I her last days. I just hope and pray she doesn't have to live too much longer because she isn't happy and there isn't anything anyone can do about it. she told Daddy the dry farm was all flooded today and when he tried to tell her it wasn't she became very upset, so she's just mixed up. I'm still really happy I took her home!!!!

I'm writing this on Saturday because when Daddy isn't home and I spend most of the afternoon on Sunday writing letters Johnny feels left out - Daddy has Ward Conferences all day tomorrow. It's a gorgeous day here and Daddy is out trimming bushes and doing other yard work - we drove up to Searcy this morning to get the Lincoln -it had been up there since Wednesday having a tune up.

Johnny's Scout troop left yesterday afternoon to go to Lake Nimrod for an overnight outing - he was so excited. He got home about noon today an then hurried and got ready and went to school - they're having school today to make up for the days missed during the snow - we decided he could miss half a day to go on his scout trip. His name was in the paper for being on the Honor Roll - there weren't very many who made it and he was so proud - now if he can just control his laughter so he can get in the Beta Club. He is such a nice, nice little boy - he was mad at me for coming home because Daddy had chartered (sp.?) an airplane and went to Lake Charles, La. and was going to take him along until I came back!!! He has really had fun on that mini-bike you fixed up Roy - we went to Reed's Mechanic shop and got the part he needed. We've got to get him a better helmet - the one he is wearing would hurt him more if he fell than if he didn't have one.

Roy - I sent your diving gear on Wednesday - I insured it so you will probably have to make a trip to the Post Office to get it but I was afraid not to. I still worry about it getting broken and will be relieved when you tell us you have received it - if that isn't all you wanted hurry and tell us and I'll try to find the other things you need - we just sent the mask and that little tube and mouthpiece. ( Roy Is going to Florida for his school Spring Break - April 1-9 - his roommate's parents own a condominium there.) We can understand your wanting to go there - I read in our paper this morning where you had 11 inches of snow yesterday I Providence!!!! We hope you'll keep us informed as to your whereabouts and also that you'll be really be really, really careful diving and also swimming and diving - that seems so dangerous to me. I had a sweet letter from Jill - forget here birthday - darn it!!!1

Annie & Ron - we hope you have rented your apartment by now. We're sorry we didn't get to say Hi to you Ron the other night. Dianne really appreciated receiving that script for MIA. We hope you're feeling good Ann and that you'll take good care of yourself. I'm sure you will enjoy having a vacation from church work but don't let it last too long maybe you could do an easier job!!!!

Jeannie & Rick - we're anxious to know how the new job is working out- we're sure you'll really do great and if it doesn't come as fast as you think it should - DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. I'm going to try your rolls tomorrow - I know they won't be as good as yours but myself if I keep working as it I can come close. I made Ann's roast Friday - in the pressure cooker - and we loved it.

Bob - I hope you get your pictures in time- I remembered after we hung up that we didn't send them all to you but I was surprised that I could find them. I'll have another six made so if you need more let me know soon. We're all so anxious about the plans for the wedding - I'm going to start looking for a blue dress soon. We want to do something special after the marriage - you can talk it over with Daddy when he comes for Conference. We would like to have a dinner but we don't know who to invite so be thinking about it - I would like to go to Sundance - that one the Woolleys had was so nice. Claire -if you think of some draperies for the living room window we'll be happy to by them - I have been thinking that some with a valance would really set the sheers off better. I'm sure you have a plenty to think about without worrying about that though.

Thursday about noon, Jim Wood called and said he and his wife were in town and would like to come see us. I hurried and finished some things I had to do and then went to the motel to get them - I invited them to stay with us but they said they would prefer to stay in a motel - Daddy was in Lake Charles. His wife's name is Karen and they are really nice. He has his MD from the University of Utah and then has interned for three years and had one year of Residency in Utah (I think that's right) - anyway he has been offered this fellowship here at the VA hospital that pays $36,800 a year and will be for two years. He was with the VA doctors all day yesterday and then came here last night and said he thought he would take it. I would never have believed that little Jimmy Wood would turn out to be such a fine man - we really like him. His wife's father is Merrell Daines from Logan and he is a doctor also. They have four children- 7, 5, 3 and 18 months. She is going to come back the first of May to look for a home - it will be expensive to rent one large enough for their family but he said they don't have a down payment to buy one. He is internal medicine and will specialize in Geriatrics (old people)-he plans to go back to Utah to practice. He was very interested I your school Roy and told us to advise you to "stick with it" and we agreed!!! He also said he thought you should apply again Bob because he said three fourths of it was persistence. He knew all about your health problems Jeanie (not you particularly, but your disease) and said he could understand how the drugs would affect pregnancy - he was so interested that you were a dietician. Karen said she had heard so often about when Jim an Ann sang a duet together. I didn't remember that but maybe you do Ann. He was interested in all of you. The twins were Donald and Bobby and Donald is married and lives in San Francisco and works for a computer company - remember his elaborate computer toy his Dad made for him. Bobby isn't married and lives in Logan and works in computers also - Karen says he is extremely tall. Betsy, their sister is a musician who plays with a group at snowbird - she's twenty. Jim is very nice looking - has quite long hair and moustache - Karen is cute. I hope they can find a place in our Ward. We took them to our Relief Society Anniversary party last night and it was just fabulous - Linda & John Smithers did the dinner- shish kabobs with filet mignon meat and onions over rice pilaf and tomatoes (stuffed) and then broiled and then Frances James had made 8 huge cakes that were just beautiful. Frances and Beverly Zimmerman did the program and it was professional- the theme of Fiddler on the Roof. I stayed completed presented the ward Relief Society with a gift she had made - two beautiful blue tablecloths trimmed in lace - very elegant. I am constantly amazed at the talent we have here- The Beyers were here for it and they were most impressed.

That's all the news and all the papers. We surely do love each one of you and we're go proud of you - please let us know if we can help you with anything - BE CAREFUL!!!!
